Fundraising Time
So, with the end of May fast approaching and our wonder machine safely secured we need to get our backs into some fundraising ( as well as painting ).
Team GI, consisting of @aigwilson, @thomam, @dougier & @scottmliddell, will be driving to Croatia in a £250 banger at the end of May in support of Gemin-i.org.
Like last year, we'll be blogging our progress live across Europe and, in addition, this year we will be Tweeting as we go from the team Twitter account http://twitter.com/teamgi (and maybe our own accounts already integrated herein).
And, if I can get the Google Maps mashup working better, we'll have live location info on this website.
So, if you think you can help spread the word and help a great charity then we'd be delighted to hear from you. It could be quite an exciting Twitter frenzy!
If you're not familiar with the Sucata Run then check out sucatarun.com and sucatasplit.com. You can also see the tale of last year's run to Cabo da Roca herein.
The charity we are supporting is Gemin-i.org :
Gemin-i.org is a UK-based charity specialising in developing innovative solutions to improve education in the developing and developed worlds. We work to improve education in over 100 countries.
We have developed innovative technology which we are using to help children around the world work together to become active global citizens.
Children of all ages take part in these projects. They learn about global issues and the role they can play to bring about change.
A here is a reprise of one of the highlights of last year, The General (may he Rest in Portugal) thundering down the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans. We can now exclusively reveal that, this year, we plan to take the might of Le Citron round the Nurburgring. That's gotta be worth a few quid.
All donations can be made to our justgiving page ( widget on left ).
